The Topside Battery Door Issue

The Topside series is one of the most popular products from DOVPO, and a lot of vapers learned about DOVPO through this product line.

We are grateful and appreciate the support and the love from our valued customers. We are aware that many of our customers have been facing the battery door issue. We had received many complaints about the battery door getting loose after the use of couple of months which eventually cause other problems as well. Along with this we received requests from the customers to provide a separate door in order to save them from buy another new device because of this inconvenience.

We hope this article will help our customers who have the battery door issue, get to know that how to find help more efficiently.

I

Topside Single 90W (SE)

Rationally speaking, the Topside Single battery door issue is more complicated because the device is basically combined by a body shell and a battery door. So, there could be 2 situations:

① The body shell is in good condition while the battery door is broken. In this case, replacing a new battery door would fix the problem compelety;

② The body shell is worn out too. If this happens, you’ll need to replace a new body shell and a new pair of battery door. But replacing a new body shell for the Topside Single requires soldering, which could be very tricky for most customers. Because not all customers know how to solder, and most people don’t have a soldering tool at home.

See the slots in the black circle? If one of the slots was worn out, then you would need to replace the body shell.

If you need to replace the body shell but don’t know how to solder, you’re more than welcomed to contact our customer service department for the help.

The Topside Dual (SE)

Comparing with the Topside Single, it’ll be easier to fix the battery door issue for the Topside Dual because it doesn’t require soldering even though you need to replace the body shell, and that’s more friendly for customers.

Some of our customers may know that we have different versions of battery doors for the Topside Dual. But now we mostly use the latest version for all the products. Let’s call them the older version & the new version for now.

How to tell if your device is has the new version or the older version? Find out in the photo below:

The two photos on the left have the device that has the older version battery doors. You can see that, like the Topside single, the device is combined by a body shell & a battery door.

However, the new version comes with a battery base. Because of the base, the new version of battery door is more solid and lasts longer.

If a customer owns an older version device and has the battery door issue, we’ll suggest the customer to purchase a new body shell and a new battery door set. It’ll be easy to fix the issue because it doesn’t require soldering at all.

Furthermore, if a customer already owns the new version, then a new battery door set would solve the problem compeltey.

We’re really sorry to let you know that this product is discontinued and we don’t have any accessory left to fix any issue on this device. If customer had any issue (not just the battery door), please don’t be hesitate to contact our customer service first. So that we’ll know what issue the customer had, and we’ll provide solution accordingly.

 

So what should you do if you had the battery door issue too?

① First of all, do not take the device apart before asking us. Because it’ll be extremely difficult for us to tell the device condition and that would make it hard for us to help. Also, because of this we won’t be sure that the customer is able to assemble the device back. If customer took the device apart before letting us know, we’ll also have to see if the customer has given up the warranty.

④ The reason to why we didn’t provide the battery door to the customers to purchase directly is because in many cases the customer doesn't know about the specification of the device. So, to prevent customers from purchasing the wrong items and wasting their money and time, we prefer and suggest the customer to ask us first, about the items and we’ll tell the customer how to order as well.
