What is DNA chipset?

The DNA chipset we are using is made by Evolv which is simply to make the most consistent, intuitive and high tech electronic cigarette products on the market today.

What is Replay Mode for DNA Chip ?

Replay is the most advanced vaping technology developed by Evolve. Replay is intended to capture the flavor and satisfaction of the ”perfect puff”, and provide the same level of performance and consistency on all subsequent puffs. The replay will also prevent the device from getting dry hits.Replay mode doesn’t work the same as Temperature Control Mode.Temperature Control is intended to maintain safety from overheating. Replay is more complicated than that, and the point of replay is to maintain flavor.

How to use Replay Mode ?

Firstly, set the device to a desired power level and operate it normally. Once a satisfying puff is achieved, activate the mode to save and replay the selected puff.To activate Replay, hold the Adjustment button for 3 seconds to turn the indicator green and activate Replay mode, the green light will remain lit while firing.

To disable Replay, hold the adjustment button for 3 seconds to resume normal operation or find another puff to replay. We encourage the user to use Replay because it not only offers more consistent flavor and vapor production but also extends the lifespan of coil/pod.

How to use Replay Mode on ODIN DNA250c & Mono SQ DNA75c?

As you know,Dovpo released several box mods with DNA chip, just like Odin DNA250C and Mono SQ DNA75C,do you know how to use replay mode on them ?

First of all, you have to download the latest version of EScribe and update the firmware if you are using a previous version of the DNA75C device.

Second, the built coils have to contain with the temp-sensing material such as Stainless steel, Titanium, Ni200, and NiFe. The combination of built coils could be 1)temp-sensing coils individually, 2)couple temp-sensing coils mix together, 3)temp-sensing coils mix with non-temp-sensing coils.

Finally, set your DNA device in your prefer wattage under replay mode and vape, once you find a perfect puff, click to save the puff, then the device will replay you the same flavor and vapor over and over.

What's the usage of Voltage display on regulated mods?

In correlation to mechanical mod, on a parallel mod you usually use 4.2volts as a guide and 8.4volts for a series guide this too applies to the regulated mods.
If you’re in for a more comfortable cooler vape you aim to set your wattage to where when you fire the device you get the voltage display at 3.5v to 4.2v giving you a more comfortable vape, honestly in our opinion if you’re using Hybrid wires you can push from 3.7v to 6.2, for a more relaxed vape upto a max of 8.4volts for a series mod power type of experience.

How to use mechanical mod?

This is for the average user that wants to start with mechanical mods or those who are starting the use of mechanical mods and need a guide.

  • Maintence
  • Type of mechanical mods
  • Safe Builds
  • Battery safety

Maintenance:
As we discussed in our forums there are multiple ways to clean a mechanical mod. Cleaning is a once a week thing in our recommendation. A well maintained mod is a powerful mod, you need to remove the patina to avoid voltage drop so that you can get the best performance from any mechanical mod you use.

Types of mechanical mod:
There are many types of mechcnical mods so lets break this section into the three most typically used types.

Single Battery Mech mod:
As the name says it is any mechanical mod using a single battery be it 18650 21700 20700 20650 18350 26650 there is only one battery, some feel that this is the best type as it is compact and still produces a lot of power, like the clutch mod we will continue discussions on builds in the build and battery safety portion.

Parallel mechanical mod:
The most typical configuration of this is 2 batteries side by side with the positive pin pointing upwards toward the atomizer. This type of dual battery mod is noted to be safer than a series and more powerful than a single battery mod.

Series Mechanical Mod:
Noted to be the most powerful of these three popular mechanical mod configurations.
A series is two batteries side by side with the positive pin of the first battery towards the atomizer and the second battery in a positive DOWN position, or stacked on top of eachother both positive towards the atomizer. With this we need to exercise extreme caution in doing our builds and battery knowledge.

Safe Builds:
With this we come to how to safely build on your mechanical mod, this is so that you know the build is not over the ampere limits of your battery and for this we need to touch the basics of the Ohms law for the three types of mechanical mods here is the bare basic formula.

Single battery mod 4.2volts (V)  / Resistance (ohms) = Ampere (A)
An example of this is
4.2v / .20 Ohm = 21a
it is the LOWEST build that we at DOVPO recommend any lower and it is at your own discretion.

Parallel mod this comes in two parts first we get the amperes then split by the number of batteries running in the configuration so 4.2volts (V) / Resistance (ohms) = Ampere (A)
once you get the amperes then Ampere (A) / Number of batteries being used

We will be using a Dual battery configuration in this example:
4.2v / .10 ohms = 42a (dangerous level for batteries under 30a)
then after getting 42a we divide by the number of batteries
42a / 2 (batteries used in a dual battery parallel mod) = 21a (safe now)

And Finally a Series mod:
Number of batteries x 4.2v (Volts) / by Resistance (ohms) = Amperes (A) this means the more batteries you are running the higher the voltage, KEEP IN MIND the more you use the more powerful yet the more dangerous this gets to miscalculate.

for this example were using a dual battery configuration (any more than 2 is just showing off)
2 batteries x 4.2v = 8.4v
then
8.4v / .35 ohms = 24a this build is the LOWEST safe build we can recommend on a series mod build lower at your own risk.

Battery safety:
And Finally one of the most important parts on this list. BATTERY SAFETY, keep in mind no matter what people say or the battery manufacturers try to convince you the MAXIMUM ampere draw on a battery is 30a at their best. To know what the TRUE ratings of the batteries are we recommend you check out the blogs of Mooch.

Never EVER go over a 30a build we would not recommend doing so. Do at your own risk. If you ever over amp your batteries you run two risks Thermal venting or Thermal expansion,

And ofcourse always check if there is damage to your battery wrap. If there is then it is best that you rewrap the battery immediately.

Thermal venting is when the battery leaks its chemical components usually through the positive pin, this happens when the internal temperature of the battery reaches around 100 degrees Celsius.
Thermal Expansion is when the battery heats up too fast for the safety features to kick in and it expands and explodes the battery which typically is at around 150 to 200 degrees Celsius this can severely injure you if it occurs.

This can be caused by short circuits in the mechanical mod because of tears in the mechanical mod or because of builds that are too low for your battery and it overheats to 100 degrees Celsius or above.

This being said please always check your batteries and builds.

Why does the screen not light up?

Probable cause:

  1. No Battery or low battery
  2. the firmware got damaged with frequent operations of abnormal shutdown.
  1. Screen is broken

Suggestions & Solutions

  1. Please check whether if the battery set properly and can be work.
  2. Please try to upgrade it if there is firmware updating for your mod.
  3. Please mind that while replacing the batteries, to power off the mod firstly by menu.
What can i do when i have leaking issues?

Probable cause:

1.Refilling the ejuice in improper way.

2.Orings, refilling pad glass, and cotton is not in good condition.

3.Vaping setting is improper.

4.Coil issue.

5.Sitting for a long time after refilling.

6.Cotton setting no plumpy

Suggestions &solutions:

Before vaping:

1.Make sure orings, seal and glass are all good and everything is tight. Use juice to lubricate o rings during instalation.

2.When you use RBA coil, make sure you stuff the cotton in there really good.

3.You can also take it all apart and screwed the coil into the base nice and then screwed the top bit on make sure it’s all  tight and make sure the seals are perfect

when you do the Filling:

4.Make sure coil bottom capes are clamped all the way down and make sure air holes are closed when refilling.

5.Make sure the atomizer has been cooled down while you refill the tank, because the liquid flows faster when the atomizer is hot.

6.Please finish the refilling asap, the longer you open the top cap, the more gravity and air pressure will come through the filling holes to press liquid.

While Vaping:

7.Please try to vape at a appropriately high wattage which is recommended on the coil during vaping. It may encounter the leaking issue if the liquid on the coil hasn’t been atomized on time with low wattage.

8.Besides, please close all the air holes when you do not use it.

Why can't I find the upgrade software for TOPSIDE DUAL, TOPSIDE DUAL SE and TOPSIDE CARBON?

TOPSIDE DUAL, TOPSIDE DUAL SE and TOPSIDE CARBON do not have upgrade software. If it is FIRMWARE disorder, please download the source file.

Why can’t i fire a e-cigarette when I insert a battery?

Please confirm whether the positive and negative poles are clean. If it is very dirty, spray alcohol on a cotton swab to clean the electrode. If you still cannot vape when it is clean, please remove the battery and charge it with USB. If the screen does not respond, it proves that the PCB board is broken, please send an video and invoice to the after-sales mailbox.

Show message "SHORTED", or "NO atomizer"。

Probable causes:

1. 510 connector shorts out.

2. The resistance of coil you are connecting is lower than 0.1Ω

3. Tanks/coil shorts out

My device can't read the resistance correctly, show "ohms too low" or "ohms too high".

Error messages about ohms are specifically related to the resistance of your coil(s) and indicate that a coil is not compatible with the device. … If you’re working with a rebuildable atomizer (RBA), the resistance of your coils may be too high or low. Adjusting the resistance will usually clear the error.
